Jens Hamann, born 1947, studied electrical engineering and electrical Machines at the TechnicalUniversity in Brunswick, Germany.
After his PhD 1979 in Brunswick, Germany, he started his career as electrical engineer for electrical drives at Siemens AG, Dynamowerk Berlin. He was responsible for the electrical design of electrical motors and generators like hydroelectric power generators.
In 1986 he moved to Erlangen to join the system test of Motion Control as Senior Engineer and established the Mechatronic Support for motion control as Deputy Director.
In April 2005, he was appointed head of Motion Control for Research & Development (R&D 2), Mechatronic Systems and Support, Advanced Development and Innovation Management.
In 2006 he was appointed Senior Principal at head of Research & Development, Motion Control Systems.
Dr. Hamann retired end of December 2014. Starting the first of January 2015, Dr. Hamann works as a free consultant for:
